WordPress Design & Development

Start with strategy.

Before I start building any website – before I even start thinking about the design and how it’s going to look – I put real thought into your goals and what it is you are trying to achieve from your new website; whether that’s increased sales, better conversions or improved brand awareness.

After taking an initial brief, I’ll spend time on simply understanding your business and your customers in order to put the best foundations in place for a website that will make an invaluable difference and provide the results you need.

User journey and accessibility are paramount, content is king and SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) is crucial. Once these things have been mapped out and a structure is in place, I’ll bring it all to life with design visuals. That’s the exciting part.

Content Management System.

WordPress is my CMS of choice for all websites, and here are just a few reasons;

Around 40% of all websites run on WordPress, making it the most widely supported CMS on the planet.

It’s super easy to use for the end-user, complete with an intuitive interface that’s regularly evolving and improving. Adding new pages, blog posts, images, etc. on a regular basis is a breeze and can be done very quickly. Struggling to figure out how to do something? No problem – with tuition in either the form of one to one chats, video calls, or recorded tutorial videos, I can get you on your feet.

The code behind WordPress is very clean and simple, making it easy for search engines to read and index your site’s content.

There is a huge and friendly community at the core of WordPress, with plenty of mixed ability users ready to lend a helping hand if you need it.

Fully responsive.

Did you know that Google has now included mobile responsive sites as part of their search engine ranking criteria? In a nutshell, this means that if your website isn’t responsive and optimised for mobile and tablets, Google will mark your site down, which means you won’t appear as high in the rankings as websites that are responsive.

Aside from this, on average 40% of UK internet traffic derives from handheld devices, and this figure is rising dramatically year on year.

All the websites I build are responsive as standard. It’s a no brainer really!
